Inside Our Chain Hoist Service Process
When we service chain hoists, we make sure to take every aspect of the hoist into consideration. Below is a quick overview of the steps we undertake to ensure your hoists are in the best working order:
1. Inspection, Maintenance & Repair
A thorough inspection of the motor’s electrical components, brake, motor chassis and chain is carried out by our rigging specialists.
Electrical Components: Inspected for loose connections, corrosion and more. Voltage, amperage and resistance values are also checked before continuing the inspection.
Brake: The motor’s brake is inspected for uneven wear, contaminates (oil, water damage etc.) and deterioration. If issues are highlighted, the brake is either repaired or replaced depending on the severity of damage.
Motor Chassis: Issues including water damage, corrosion, cracks, chain guide damage, worn out bearings and more are inspected for.
Chain: One of the most important components of chain hoist operation, the entire chain is checked for wear, stretching and damage (scratches, gouges, nicks etc.) before re-lubrication.
Following the inspection, testing and confirmation that all motor components are in working order, the motor is re-assembled and the chain re-lubricated.

2. Load Test
Before any hoist is returned to operation, it undergoes a load test using our integrated dynamic load test stand. Our rigging specialists provide the necessary load test documentation that corresponds with the tested motor, ensuring the correct procedures are followed and all requirements are met.

3. Certification
As the final step in the chain hoist service process, each hoist is provided with a serialized inspection tag. This process ensures that all inspections are documented and easily referenced for future inspections.
