Trolley Hoists
Lift and move loads along a beam with trolley hoists from MTN Shop. A trolley hoist combines a hoist for vertical lifting with a trolley that travels along the bottom flange of an overhead beam, giving you both lift and horizontal movement in one setup. This makes it the ideal solution for workshops, fabrication shops, maintenance bays and warehouses where a fixed lift point would mean repositioning the load.
We sell trolley hoists and beam trolleys from trusted brands including OZ Lifting, CM and Tractel. The range covers push and geared beam trolleys, integrated trolley hoists such as the CM Cyclone, low headroom combination hoist and trolley units, plus electric, spark resistant and stainless steel options for specialist environments.
Pair your trolley hoist with the right beam clamps, or browse our chain hoists to build your system.

Trolley Hoists at MTN Shop
A trolley hoist is an overhead lifting solution that combines a hoist for vertical lifting with a trolley that travels horizontally along a beam. The trolley clamps over the bottom flange of an I-beam, H-beam or universal beam and carries the hoist along it, so you can lift a load and move it along the beam without repositioning the lift point. Together with the beam, this creates a simple monorail system, sitting between a fixed beam clamp and a full overhead crane.
Types of beam trolley travel
- Push trolleys are moved by hand, with the operator pushing or pulling the load along the beam. They suit lighter loads and shorter distances.
- Geared trolleys use a hand chain and gearing to move heavier loads with more control and less effort, ideal for precise load placement.
- Electric trolleys use a motor for powered travel, best for frequent, heavy duty or repetitive movement.
Trolley hoists and combination units
Integrated trolley hoists, such as the CM Cyclone, combine the hoist and trolley in a single unit for compact, reliable performance. Low headroom combination hoist and trolley units are designed to maximise lifting height in spaces with limited clearance, getting the hook as high as possible under the beam. For specialist environments, spark resistant and stainless steel models are available for hazardous, corrosive or hygienic applications.
Choosing the right trolley hoist
Match the trolley to your beam flange width, which is the single biggest selection factor, and confirm the working load limit covers the hoist plus the load. Many trolleys adjust to fit a range of flange sizes and feature dual tread wheels that fit both tapered and flat flange beams. Always confirm the beam itself is rated for the combined weight of the trolley, hoist and load.
