Fixed (90°) Couplers at MTN Shop
A fixed 90° coupler, commonly called a cheeseborough, is a clamp used to connect two iron pipes or aluminum tubes at a rigid right angle. Unlike a swivel coupler, which allows the tubes to be joined at any angle, a fixed coupler holds the connection at exactly 90 degrees, giving a strong, inflexible joint. What is a cheeseborough?
The name cheeseborough is believed to come from the Chesebro-Whitman manufacturing company of New York. These clamps are also known as cheeseboros, scaffold clamps and couplers, and they come in two main styles: fixed (rigid 90°) and swivel. Fixed couplers are used wherever a precise, permanent right angle joint is needed between two tubes.
